Is anyone telling you what to fix?

Usually two to four minutes after you stop recording. A 25- or 50-minute recording has to be transcribed and then scored for pronunciation and coaching, so it is not instant. You can work in another tab while it processes.

After creating your account, install the extension from the Chrome Web Store. Install → log in to SpeakCoach → start recording from your next lesson. Setup takes about three minutes.

It works with lessons you take in a browser tab — 150+ online English lesson sites, including lessons held on Google Meet or Zoom. That covers tutor marketplaces, subscription platforms and school portals. If your service is not detected automatically, you can still start a recording by clicking the pinned SpeakCoach icon and pressing “Start recording”.

For now it is only available as a Google Chrome extension on a PC. Because the audio is captured from the browser running your lesson, mobile browsers cannot support it. If you take your lessons on a phone, consider switching to a PC browser.

A built-in PC microphone or a wired headset or earbud mic works well. Most microphones get you all the way through pronunciation scoring, but some Bluetooth headsets — and mics with heavy built-in noise suppression — can reduce the accuracy of pronunciation scoring. Transcript, grammar and vocabulary feedback work normally on any microphone.

They are stored encrypted and only within your own account. Analysis runs through enterprise AI services such as OpenAI, Deepgram and Azure Speech, all chosen on contract terms under which your input is not used to train AI models. See the privacy policy for details.

It uses permission for microphone audio and for capturing tab audio. What it records is essentially your own speech; your teacher's audio is not captured by default (it is enabled per service only where that platform's terms of service permit recording). Both are used only for recording during a lesson — it does not collect what you browse or type outside the lesson page. Recordings are sent encrypted over HTTPS and stored inside your account.

Six scores — overall, grammar, naturalness, vocabulary, fluency and pronunciation — plus a CEFR level (A1–C2), grammar notes marked inline on the transcript, weak phrases accumulating over time, and study-direction advice from the AI coach. The more lessons you record, the more the feedback is specific to you.

Things like “my scores have flattened, what should I work on?”, “I can't get articles right”, “what should I focus on in my next lesson?” — all answered with your past session history in hand. It gets specific about what to do with the time between lessons too (vocabulary work, writing, and so on).

Yes — you can cancel from the following month at any time. After cancelling you lose access to your past sessions, but if you come back, the weak spots and vocabulary you built up carry over.
